Eventually convert all staff and student parking lots into mulitlevel parking garages. There are not enough parking spaces to accomadate the growth of the campus. Most individuals cannot leave for lunch without losing their parking spot.
Parking and Transportation
HELP! We need additional handicap parking. We NEED to install signs at each space designating "FACULTY/STAFF ONLY" parking? The students do not notice, do not pay attention to the faded striped lines. We should monitor/enforce these violators who use our spaces, this is not being done on a regular basis. Have some designated visitor parking near all buildings and simplify the visitor decal process. It can be very trying for visitors to make way across campus to get decal, find parking far-off and then get to their destination in time. It does not help the campus image if all that the visitor remembers is the long walk and a parking ticket!
There is a great need for additional event parking for music, art and theater evening events held in the Fine Arts Building. The only open lot, on the corner of Nedderman and Greek Row, used to have plenty of parking in the evening. Now, with the MAC next door, this lot is now filled with student cars as soon as the gate goes up at 5pm. Can the gate stay down until 7pm? Most Fine Arts events begin at 7:30 or 8pm. Can ...more »
Engineers at UTA should be able to design a scanning device (like the one in supermarket) to scan UTA ID or tag in short distance at the parking lot gate. It will be more convenient in a raining day.
Designate special parking areas or entire parking lots for hybrid and other energy efficient vehicles closer to campus buildings. This will save money and encourage other to use energy saving vehicles.
